Scott Burke

As Founder and CEO of Injury Finance, Scott Burke, MD, offers nearly 30 years of experience as a practicing physician and 15 years of healthcare funding leadership. Recognizing a need in the community, Dr. Burke founded Injury Finance in 2003 to provide uninsured and under-insured personal injury victims with access to high-quality medical care. Under his leadership, Injury Finance has grown to serve more than 2,300 law firms and 2,500 provider locations.

Dr. Burke attended medical school at Pennsylvania State University where he graduated at the top of his class and received the distinguished Sandoz Award for showing ‘superior academic achievement and dedication to health care’. Dr. Burke completed his residency in General Surgery/Orthopedics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

During his 29 years as a practicing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, Dr. Burke served as:

  • Medical Director of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center of Denver
  • Corporate Medical Director for Spine Services, HealthSouth
  • Founder/Owner of Rocky Mountain Occupational Center
  • Founder/CEO of OSCAR (now part of BTE Technologies)
  • Founder and Senior Partner of Denver Spine & Rehabilitation
  • Consultant and treating physician for the PGA Tour

Dr. Burke has published multiple papers in reviewed medical journals on topics such as renaturation kinetics of Herpes DNA, spinal surgery outcomes, SI joint dysfunctions, physical and non-physical factors affecting return-to-work rates, and other spine-related topics. Dr. Burke has been featured on various local and national TV broadcasts, including NBC Nightly News and the TODAY Show. He has also spoken at numerous national and international conferences on spine care, including the North American Spine Society and the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS) Conventions.

In 2009, Dr. Burke retired from his full-time active medical practice to focus on his role as CEO of Injury Finance. He has done humanitarian work in Haiti and continues to be involved in charitable organizations across the country.

Krista Meardon

As Chief Operating Officer for Injury Finance, Krista Meardon oversees all operations and growth strategy for the company using her expertise in both business and medicine. Krista’s structure and guidance has helped turned Injury Finance into a successful, nationally recognized healthcare funding company. Under her operational oversight, Injury Finance has grown to serve more than 2,300 law firms and 2,500 provider locations.

After graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, Krista worked at Denver Spine & Rehab with Dr. Scott Burke while furthering her education in medicine at night. When Dr. Burke started Injury Finance in 2003, Krista decided to forego medicine to help build and grow Injury Finance into what it is today. Thanks to Krista’s dedication, Injury Finance is a leader in the healthcare funding industry and continues to operate with the same philanthropic values it did in the very beginning.

Outside the office, Krista enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two young children. As a Colorado native, she loves traveling, practicing her culinary skills and giving back to organizations that support Colorado youth, including Denver Children’s Home & Children’s Hospital.

Chris Davis

As Vice President of Business Development at Injury Finance, Chris Davis leads the attorney marketing and provider contracting efforts for all company markets. With over 15 years of experience, Chris has developed a reputation for building business and generating sales through mutually beneficial relationships. Injury Finance offers the perfect platform to build those relationships by allowing customers to improve their operational capacity and efficiency, and positively impact their bottom line.

Before moving to Denver in 2003, Chris received his bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Cornell College, followed by a master’s degree from West Virginia University. In his free time, Chris enjoys golfing, tackling home improvement projects, and spending time with his wife and three young children.

Jessica Burke

As Director of Business Development at Injury Finance, Jessica Burke brings an enthusiasm for connecting people and building relationships to the team. Driven by her passion for helping others, Jessica educates personal injury attorneys and medical providers on the benefits that Injury Finance offers to their injured clients.

Jessica worked in the company’s accounting and case management departments before joining the business development team. She received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish language and literature with minors in business and political science from the University of Colorado Boulder (Go Buffs!). In her spare time, Jessica serves on the Board of Directors for the First Tee of Denver and is a volunteer mentor with Minds Matter Denver. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, golfing, and escaping to the mountains whenever she can.   

Nick Milberger

As a Business Development Manager at Injury Finance, Nick brings a strong communication initiative and a passion for connecting people and cultivating relationships to the team. Nick worked as the company’s provider contracting specialist before joining the business development team. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in finance from Concordia University, Nebraska, where he competed on the golf team. Nick serves on the board of Together For Vets, and in his free time, enjoys spending time with friends and family, golfing, and snowboarding.

Meghan Neil

As the Business Development Manager for Metro Atlanta at Injury Finance, Meghan Neil thoroughly enjoys building professional and personal relationships. At Injury Finance, Meghan is responsible for educating personal injury attorneys and their staff about the benefits Injury Finance offers to their clients and firms. Meghan’s professional background started working for the University of Alabama’s Athletics Department where she began developing relationships during her time recruiting for their football team and working within their Compliance Department during graduate school. She received her master’s degree in Sports Business Management and a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Risk Management from the University of Alabama. In her free time, Meghan enjoys running, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog Beau.

Joel Padgett

As a Business Development Manager, Joel brings motivation and relationship building expertise to our Tennessee market. His innate ability to build and maintain relationships is what sets him apart from others in the field. His priorities align with what Injury Finance believes will satisfy their customers directly and effectively.  Most recently, Joel worked in the manufacturing business as a Safety Manager and prior to that, he rose to the rank of Captain as an Active Duty Army Officer and served our country honorably for over 4 years. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with a minor in Military Science from Western Kentucky University. In his spare time, he enjoys being active in the gym, the outdoors, golfing, time on the lake, or enjoying a sporting event. He is also an active participant in the Veteran community, spending significant time fundraising and supporting events that help Veterans.
